Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon

Ariel Overstreet, 2010 Miss Teen Rodeo OregonIn the heart of the "Silicon Forest" in Washington County you will meet the 2010 Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon, Ariel Overstreet. On August 1, 2009 during the Santiam Canyon Stampede, Ariel fulfilled her dream of becoming Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon, by winning the categories of horsemanship, speech, personality, and photogenics.

As an 18 year old senior at Liberty High School in Hillsboro, Ariel is dual enrolled in PCC and PSU courses. After graduation, she plans to attend Oregon State University, majoring in Exercise & Sport Science. Ariel is co-captain of the Liberty OHSET team, a member of the Mavericks 4-H club, and was the Jr. Wagonmaster of the Washington County 4-H Wagon Train.

Ariel lives in Hillsboro with her parents, Tommy and Diane, and her sister Amber. Her partner in rodeo is an 18 year old AQHA Buckskin gelding, "Rainy Day Hickory." Ariel and Hickory enjoy competing in nearly every discipline including; drill team, gaming, team penning, dressage, and even hunter hack jumping. But they are best in a rodeo arena, carrying a flag, pushing cattle, and hauling it in a run out!

When she is not on her horse, Ariel works in an old fashioned soda fountain at the Hillsboro Pharmacy. She enjoys the outdoors, hunting, family time and volunteers at the Washington County Health Clinic.
During 2010, Ariel hopes to inspire children as she visits elementary schools to present her Senior Project, Animal Welfare and the Sport of Rodeo. As Miss Teen Rodeo Oregon, Ariel will be an ambassador of Rodeo, displaying excellence in horsemanship, high moral and ethical character, while reflecting careful and humane treatment of animals. She is an all-American Girl who will promote rodeo throughout the state of Oregon.
