The April monthly meting of the Fort Dalles Rodeo Association was called to order at 7:00 PM by President Waly Wolf on April 13, 2010 at The Fort Dalles Riders Clubhouse. Present: Wally Wolf, Steve Hunt, Fred Fahrni, Michelle Dollarhyde, Chris Roberts, Jake Grossmiller, Dee Davidson, Matt Larsen, Vicki Sallee, Helen Rolfe, Barb Pizzola, Chris Olson, Bodie Rose, Robin Sallee
Minutes of the March meeting were read and approved as corrected. “Barb is working with Molly”
Treasurers Report showed a balance of $13,199.15.
Announcements:
1. Fred reported we will get $3700. From Dodge. $3,000. Goes to the committee and $700. Goes to the contract personal. We must promote Dodge and C.H. Urness Motors in our advertising (Print & Radio). Dodge will send us 100 posters to use as we see fit.
2. The Dalles Lions Club sent us a letter asking for money. Decided not this year.
3. Line of Credit is finished at Columbia Bank.
4. Fred will take the $4000.00 for the crisis fund to the NPRA meeting this week end.
5. They are drilling some type of test holes out at the grounds.
Old Business:
1. Jake reported on some of the activities happening Rodeo Week in town. Quick Draw contest, Bank Robbery, etc.
2. Wally is hoping we get a billboard at each end of the gorge advertising the activities in July.
3. Dee, Michelle and Robin reported on some of the internet places we are getting our activities listed.
4. Helen will get the scholarship applications out to area schools next week.
Queen Report:
1. New TETWP Chaps are done, Look Great.
2. Has raised over $3200.00 so far. A few more sponsors are coming in.
3. Autograph sheets will be done for Cherry Festival. Will have her Bio and sponsors on the back.
4. Reported the people in The Dalles have been really great to help her.
New Business:
1. Chris needs 2 banners for Cherry Festival. Anyone who wants to participate wear your pink shirt and ride a horse or ride a Dodge in the parade.
2. Barb reminded us all she has a TETWP Booth at Cherry Festival. Robin will go there after her other obligations. Chris will help put the booth up Friday.
3. Cherry Festival Carnival will be at the grounds.
4. Eduardo from the Mexican Rodeo will fix the gates they broke.
5. Matt reported he has reserved the tractor for Rodeo Week. Need to spray @ the grounds ASAP. Puncture vine is really bad this year. He has been contacted by a group that wants to buy the old bleachers. It was decided to sell them 2 sets for what new 2 X 10’s would be to fix the third one. Has talked to the Elks and they are Good To Go on the Steak Feed. Discover Rentals and Cousins are having a street dance, BBQ, and dunk tank Monday night of Rodeo Week from 7-12.
