Sorry I missed the festivites Saturday night, birthing comes first this time of year. Looks like it was a huge sucess. Congrats Robin on a great money making night.
The March monthly meting of the Fort Dalles Rodeo Association was called to order at 7:00 PM by President Waly Wolf on March 9, 2010 at The Fort Dalles Riders Clubhouse. Present: Wally Wolf, Steve Hunt, Fred Fahrni, Linden Bayley, Chris Roberts, Jake Grossmiller, Dee Davidson, Matt Larsen, Leonard Olson, Rocky & Janna Webb, Vicki Sallee, GeGe Villilobos, Helen Rolfe, Barb Pizzola, Chris Olson, Susan Bull.
Minutes of the February meeting were read and approved as corrected.( We will comp Duane Nelson a ticket for MC’ing)
Treasurers Report showed a balance of $10,425.94. Dee shared we had received the 2010 sponsorship from Columbia State Bank for $3,000.00.
Banquet Committee:
GeGe reported we have the Parrish Center from 3PM to 11PM; will decorate at 3. Vicki Salle passed around the program she is putting together. Robin has 40 plus items for silent auction and 10 for the oral auction. Rocky will be the auctioneer for the oral auction. Steve reported we have 92 RSVP’d by tonight. Robin reported she will be doing a Mr. Fort Dalles Days mock pageant as a money raiser. Jana, Dee and Vicki will handle the money for Saturday night.
Announcements:
1. Wally shared with the group the notebook Leonard has put together for sponsorship opportunities. We have 5 copies and members can check one out if need be. Also shared we need to promote this as advertising as we are not a 501 c (3) corporation, so donations are not tax deductable.
2. Wally and Jake gave a brief update on the planned activities for Rodeo week. Wally also reported we will be handling the money for some different activities that week.
3. The committee will be working to link all the web sites of the organizations that are participating.
Old Business:
1. Jake reported he has hired John Rolfe to be the DJ for Friday night for $500.00.
2. Jana Webb reported the “Kick-Off Party” will be from 6-8 PM at the ASC complex on Tuesday of Rodeo Week. It was felt Habitat for Humanity brought in some different folks, so should continue with them being involved. Barb requested we use the same wine vendor at this activity as we will be using at the rode.
New Business:
1. Barbara and Bev are working together to feature Bev’s wine this year. She will make sure we are in compliance with all OLCC rules and regs.
2. TETWP: Barbara has ordered a new banner for under the announcer’s booth. Also she has some T-shirts for $12.00.
3. Chris reported Cousins will supply rooms for contract personnel for $85.00 per night. They would like to help any way they can to make rodeo week better.
